Republic Day Celebrations on the 26th January, 2009
In continuing with the spirit to encourage and enlighten the true colors of our independent republic within the community, Voice of People Foundation took the pleasure in announcing two competitions on the occasion of 60th Republic day celebration on 26th January 2009.
First one being……
100 words essay or note on 'Republic Day to Me… Today'
Age Group I : 10Yrs to 15Yrs
Age Group II : 16Yrs to 21Yrs
Age Group III : 22Yrs and above
Paint with four colors– Saffron, Green, Dark Blue & White on any material (T shirt, Cloth, Pot, paper…anything)
Age Group I : 10Yrs to 15Yrs
Age Group II : 16Yrs to 21Yrs
Age Group III : 22Yrs and above
Winners were declared on the 26th January, 2009 at the function 'Remembering Republic Day' at 1st Floor, Tamil Sangh Hall, Sector 9A, Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
At the function 'Remembering Republic Day', we had invited Senior citizens of age 70yrs plus….who shared with the audience the nostalgic moments they had on the same day in the year 1950…what they did?...How did they come to know?...What was the feeling?...How did they celebrate?....What was the dream in their eyes for tomorrow? …..in those days when BREAKING NEWS were not there…television …for that matter of fact Electricity was not there…..what was the feeling?
